The statewide tenants rights organization Tenants Together is working on repealing the statewide Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act that removed rent control for most single-family homes (including condos) and replacement roommates. The state bill that would let cities dramatically expand rent control has been put on hold for a year by its author amid fierce opposition from landlords.
